Inspired
by his wife Rapunzel J. Amador Lewis, P.E., whom he met
at V.P. Bldgs. back in August of 1994 where she also started
her career in structural engineering design of metal buildings,
Alvin took a CAD course at Modesto Junior College to brush
up on his drafting skills. Little did Rapunzel realize how
fast and soon Alvin
would
spark his interest back performing CAD operations. As
a matter of fact, it only took him a few weeks to realize
he wanted to hang a shingle and start his own drafting
business on the side, and named it ALL Design & Drafting
Services (ADDS).
Alvin's first project was helping out his co-basketball
team-mate finish the architectural
plans for their residence addition and remodel in Turlock,
CA. From this first project in
February of 2003, new clients would soon be referred by
previous clients and annual service revenues would more
than triple every year
thereafter. It would be a shared effort between Alvin
and Rapunzel, with Alvin bringing in new customers and
providing CAD services, while Rapunzel provided architectural
and structural design and engineering services for a variety
of residential projects. In addition, drafting services
would be provided for civil plans and drawings for other
local Civil Engineers.
